Our Story

Tony, Phill and Gary are always looking to add value to their drivers and customers. This is a theme that you’ll hear through all of their podcasts and videos. But they are also enthusiastic about the industry as a whole and hope to use the podcast to help solve some of the challenges that the industry faces.

Gary says, “in our research into bridge strikes we discovered that these mistakes cost £23,000,000 per year at an average cost of £13,000 per strike. Currently the blame rests squarely with the driver, but blaming the driver isn’t solving the issue. We are very interested in exploring new ways of preventing these incidents and hope to raise awareness through the podcast”.

On the subject of new drivers coming into the industry, Tony says, “even the most experienced driver had to do their first shift once. We have so much more training and information as part of the current test system so a new driver is safer than they have ever been. We need to get more companies to recognise this and help develop entrants to our industry. Hopefully, we can use the podcast to share this message”.

Our Goals and Vision

The Podcast Team are passionate about driver training and development. The Driver Hire Podcast was created as a new way of conveying hints and ideas to their drivers. Its ever-widening audience now extends well beyond only their drivers.

It turns out that the podcast was just the start and there is now a series of informational videos to assist in helping their drivers be the very best that they can be.
